Overview
Christians on the Left exists primarily to support, resource and network Christians involved on the left of politics in the UK, and now has members around the world. The movement works to renew politics on the Left by fighting injustice, campaigning, praying and supporting Christians who serve in political life; its last four years have seen rapid growth to well over 2,400 members, including 30+ MPs, peers and mayors. As Christians, they believe that by “showing up” we can change our world to better reflect the values of God’s kingdom. The organisation was founded in 1960 (as the Christian Socialist Movement) from a merger of like-minded groups and today is led by a national team: its Director is Hannah Rich and its Executive Committee Chair is Anna Dixon MP.
