Founder & CEO of AStepFWD and the UK Christian Charts, O’Neil Dennis (or simply Dennis, as he’s often called) is a creative visionary whose motto is “only the best is good enough.” Known for his passion for selfless service and excellence, he approaches even the simplest tasks with the mindset of working “as unto God.”

A humble yet charismatic leader, Dennis became a Christian in 2013 following a life-changing Saul-to-Paul experience that ignited his determination to empower others using his extensive skill set. With a background in PR, marketing, and business development, as well as multiple executive roles and creative projects to his credit, Dennis is widely recognised for his optimism, strategic thinking and contagious enthusiasm.

In March 2014, Dennis brought the vision for the UK Christian Charts (UKCC) to life, establishing the first national independent charting system for the UK’s Christian and Gospel music community. Powered by astepfwd.com, the chart facilitates a fully inclusive, genre-diverse process, spotlighting both emerging and established artists across styles from reggae to rock and worship to pop. The UKCC has grown exponentially, now boasting over 155 judges, 700+ recognised artists, thousands of monthly voters, and more than 8,000 pieces of music processed. Supported by 40+ dedicated volunteers, the organisation’s growth continues to flourish.

In 2024, AStepFWD and the UK Christian Charts celebrated a decade of excellence in showcasing the best of Christian and Gospel music – a testament to Dennis’ vision, dedication, and unwavering faith in God and people. Building on this milestone, Dennis also spearheaded a landmark partnership with the Official Charts Company, resulting in the launch of the first Official UK Christian & Gospel Singles Chart in March 2026. This historic collaboration marked a major shift for Christian and Gospel music in the UK, bringing the genre into the national charts framework and creating new opportunities for visibility, recognition, and industry growth at the highest level.

Dennis has spearheaded numerous impactful initiatives, including the Music & Media Conference, Christmas Live, The Big Convo, the UK stops for the Poets in Autumn World Tour, the Masterclass Series, and StepFWD Awards, among others. His consultancy and project management expertise have attracted collaborations with global icons such as Kirk Franklin, Israel Houghton, Kim Burrell, Donald Lawrence, BeBe Winans, Sinach, and Graham Kendrick.

In addition to his work with AStepFWD, Dennis is deeply committed to missions, supporting various ministries, start-ups, and entrepreneurs. His efforts have led to over 240 children being sponsored out of extreme poverty and countless lives being positively transformed.

Dennis’ impact has been recognised with prestigious accolades, including a Heritage Award from the African Gospel Music and Media Awards (AGMMA) and a Prestige Award from the GX Awards for his work with AStepFWD.

Through vision, consistency, and faith, Dennis continues to shape the future of Christian and Gospel music, building platforms that not only celebrate excellence but create lasting opportunities for artists, communities, and the wider Kingdom.
